Hazardous Material Surveys

Hazardous Material Surveys Reducing the risk

The identification and safe removal of hazardous materials is vital to ensure the health and safety of employees.

At ACS, we work with you to determine the nature of the hazardous material and arrange for its safe removal. Our service offers you:

  • Safety - all procedures carried out with the safety of employees in mind
  • Assurance - skilled and experienced team of professionals
  • Compliance - with current regulations

Full assessment

In accordance with best practice procedures and legislation, we undertake an occupational health and safety and environmental risk assessment based on the condition of hazardous materials identified and prioritised, during our survey.

Our comprehensive assessment procedures involve investigations for the presence of hazardous materials, including:

  • Asbestos
  • Synthetic mineral fibre
  • Polychlorinated biphenyls (from fluorescent light fittings)
  • Ozone depleting substances
  • Lead paint

Informed decisions

We collect information from the owners, occupiers or tenants of the site relating to relevant issues pertaining to the site.

Suspected hazardous materials are, where required, visually or analytically characterised and detailed in a Hazardous Materials Register, which typically shows:

  • Material
  • Location
  • Condition
  • Photographic Reference
  • Potential risk

The Hazardous Materials Register also provides information on the class of the material and details for its safe removal and disposal.

If you would like to know more about the hazardous material surveys we provide, or to discover how we could work with you to solve your hazardous material issues, please call now on 01422 370 588.
