Health & Safety Audits
What are health and safety audits?
The health and safety audits we offer at ACS, have been designed to provide a full independent examination of your organisation's systems for health and safety management purposes.
In particular, they highlight areas of strength and identify weaknesses, which may be putting the health of your employees at risk.
By using our audit service, your organisation will not only be able to identify areas of high risk within its operation but also reduce potential losses.
Qualified professionals
All ACS health and safety audits are carried out by our professional team of qualified consultants. All are members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and have experience in a wide range of working environments.
Why do you need a health and safety audit?
A health and safety audit will provide you with an indication of the risks that your employees face in the workplace.
It will also tell you if you are compliant with current health and safety legislation.
Under Regulation 5 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers have a legal obligation to 'monitor and review the protective measures put in place for Health and Safety at work'.
The reports produced by our health and safety audit can help your company to comply with this law.
Health and safety audit reports
Once the health and safety audit has been carried out, we produce a comprehensive report.
Containing a series of scored audit results across a range of selected key areas, the report provides you with a clear, quantified measure of compliance against required standards and best practice.
Reports produced through our health and safety audit can also be used to:- Determine the company's compliance against required standards and best practice
- Help achieve best practice in relation to health and safety management by forming the basis of a management action plan
- Comply with Corporate Governance - which requires an annual report to the company's Board of Directors or Shareholders on the risks affecting the organisation and the plans in place to eliminate or reduce them
As the reports we produce are evaluated using national standards there is also the option, for those organisations achieving acceptable levels of safety, to:
- Apply to the Association of Risk Management for an award under the ARM Award Scheme
